S.T.A.R.S. stands for Scholastically Talented, Academically Responsible Students!  That’s exactly what we strive to obtain.

 We are a Christian based academic homeschool co-op. We have been challenging our kids for 7 years at the co-op and meet weekly  in Spartanburg, S.C..  We currently have about 45 families involved.   We vary from 120 or so kids to around 75, depending upon what classes are being offered each semester

 We are currently reorganizing to focus even more attention on academics. We offer everything from art to Geometry and Driver’s Education. Our primary goals are to achieve academic excellence in a Godly environment.  

 We are also actively seeking a chapter in the National Homeschool Honor Society.  This is an excellent tool to use on your students college applications.   We also have a debate club that participates in NCFCA tournaments, both locally and regionally.   Our class schedule ranges from nursery-12th grades.

 Although academics are our primary focus, we do have fun things planned each year for our kids.  We have a yearly Christmas and yearly “school’s out!” party.  We also plan field trips together that the kids absolutely love.  This year we visited the Walnut Grove Plantation and the Roper Mountain Science Center.  This was also the first year that we held our, now annual, Back to School skating party!!

We have many wonderful classes and field trips planned for the upcoming year and hope that you can join us!! 

COST:  I have received many emails about this and so I thought I’d post our costs here.  

nursery-7th grades :   20.00 dollars per child, per semester.  (there are some nominal fees in some individual classes that are additional to the co-op entrance fee.  Ex:  art class,  8.00 dollars, for the entire year, to purchase ongoing  art supplies)

High School:  75.00 dollars per child, per semester.  (there are also some nominal fees for high school classes above the co-op fees.  These are ONE TIME fees!  Ex:  Science classes could be anywhere from 8-15 dollars for the entire year to purchase lab supplies)
